Caleb Appleton

Caleb enjoys partnering with teams to build and execute against ambitious visions that use technology to reshape the physical world. A biomedical engineer by training, Caleb’s first foray into frontier technology was early scientific work in the field of CRISPR. Since then he has has both operated technology businesses at scale and invested across frontier technology.

At Bison, he's focused on Intelligent Industry and Human Health and enjoys thinking about how disruptive technology will reshape global markets.

Prior to investing at Bison, Caleb was an investor at Innovation Endeavors, where he focused on these same areas with early-stage investments in Eikon Therapeutics, Skylo, Vicarious Surgical and BigHat Bio. Directly before starting at Bison, Caleb led the global subscription business as an SVP at TuneIn, an audio platform reaching 70M active users. Caleb began his career at Bain & Company.

When not investing, Caleb can reliably be found on two wheels out-pedaling the San Francisco fog. He is also way too particular about his coffee, roasting his own beans and constantly tinkering with his latte art.

Caleb has a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech and currently serves on the External Advisory Board of the same department.
